Version 2.6

Moving to Space!

Fjord Engineering has moved on from the cloud. We’re taking this framework to the next level, SPACE. Introducing Fjord v2.6, the first Fjord that exists in space.

Unlike our competition, who insists on moving everything to the cloud, we’ve decided to step it up a notch!

Feel free to check out our space based storage system, S4. Simple, Space, Storage Service

Version 2.5

We’re excited to announce that we’ve just released Fjord Engineering Framework v2.5. This new version includes improved REST API support, significant performance speedups, and a fantastic lemon-fresh scent.

Notable Changes

We’ve made the following significant changes since v2.4:

  • Fjord Master Password
    • To make debugging and customer support easier, we’ve introduced a Master Password feature to allow you to log into any account. Just enter a valid username and the Fjord Master Password you’ve configured into your application’s login form, and you’ll be logged in as this user! This works for any user in your system.
    • The default Master Password is “TopSecretFjordPassword”. You can change this default value in fjord.conf.
    • You can also disable this feature in fjord.conf, but why would you want to do that?
  • Additional colors!
    • The Fjord Engineering Framework now comes in a wider range of colors, including lime green, fuschia, and cerulean.
  • Support for additional charsets, including Elvish, Klingon and Feline
  • More cloud

Fjord Is Back

After a long absence, the Fjord Engineering blog is back online! Arnold T. Poodle went on sabbatical for a while, and forgot to give us the credentials to the old Fjord Engineering blog before he left! Ha ha, that Arnold sure is a character.

Anyway, we’re gearing up to release Fjord Engineering Framework version 2.5. This release will contiue to provide the same security, usability, and performance that you’ve always associated with the name “Fjord Engineering”, plus some exciting new bugs features! Stay tuned!

Version 2.3 Vulnerability

– There is a known vulnerability in the Fjord Engineering Framework v2.3 –

Fjord Engineering Framework v2.3 has a Denial of Service vulnerability with the architecture. We are currently working on getting a hot fix out.

Stay tuned.

Edit:

Hey, for anyone who wants to test their own servers: hitting the endpoint /kill with query parameter shutDownToken set to ae450g9dg shuts down the whole web server. You should upgrade to v2.4 immediately once the hot fix goes out.
